“This investigation began with a shooting that occurred on April 25 in the area of Chanticleer Apartments and from that investigation, we were led to these two suspects and made the arrest today,” Selma Chief of Police William T. Riley said. “We have been working on this and other ongoing cases for quite some time.”

Dixon faces charges of trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana 1st, possession of drug paraphernalia, attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle. Lesure is being held under charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession of marijuana 1st, attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

Dixon holds a $1.5 million bond and Lesure is being held under a $576,000 bond. Both are in custody at the Dallas County Jail.

“The fact that this was found on the streets of Selma is of huge concern to us,” Riley said. “These men also had high-power, very dangerous weapons on them.”

Riley said the police department is also looking into possible federal charges for the two suspects.

“One of the things we look at in a case like this is how the drugs are connected to the violence,” he said. “It’s just an ugly combination.”
