Ms. Gurther D. Williams, 73, resident of Selma, passed away April 30, 2013 at Vaughan Regional Hospital. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive #2 officiated by Rev. Anthony Sheards. Burial will follow in Town Creek Cemetery directed by Miller Funeral Service of Selma.

She is preceded in death by spouse, Sam Williams; parents, Pearlie Mae and Williams Tompkins, Sr.

Survivors include one son, Sheppard Smyley Jr.; one daughter, Gerardine Tompkins; four brothers, tom Tompkins, Pat Tompkins, RC Tompkins, and Melvin Tompkins; three sisters, Pearline Barge, Mary Lou James, and Cornelius Kelly; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-laws, a host of nieces and nephews.
