Lawrence J. Johnson, Sr., 83, resident of Valley Grande, AL passed away April 20, 2013 at Vaughan Regional. Services will be held April 27, 2-13, 1:00 p.m. at Grant Chapel AME Church officiated by Rev. Marion Brock Jr. Burial will follow in Pineview directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by parents, Johnny and Kate Johnson; brothers, Willie L. Johnson, Bruce Johnson; grandson, Shalon R. Devalt.
Survivors includes spouse, Eva J. Johnson; sons, Lawrence J. Johnson, Jr., Lawrence J. Johnson III; daughters, Yvonne A. Kelley; Jacquelyn Irons, Kathleen Johnson, Patricia Taylor, Marguerite Johnson, and Catrina Whitlock; sisters, Anna Johnson and Frankie Lee Johnson; seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two sons-in-laws,  two brothers-in-laws,one sister-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews.
