Residents will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious catered lunch while viewing the latest spring fashion trends as Sturdivant Hall prepares to host their annual spring luncheon and fashion show.

The luncheon, which will be held Wednesday, April 24, will feature fashions from downtown boutique Allez-Oup as well as jewelry and clothing from the Sturdivant Hall gift shop.

Ann Murray of Allez-Oup and Carter Drug Co., said the informal luncheon will not only be enjoyable but also give residents a glimpse of what styles will be fashionable this spring season.

“Spring is full of color. Bright colored dresses will be very popular,” Murray said. “Short tops, skinny jeans — we will be showing all the big trends.”

Residents ranging in ages of early 20s to late 50s will be modeling the clothes, Murray said. All clothing will be from Allez-Oup and the Sturdivant Hall Gift Shop.

“It’ll be informal modeling, there won’t be a runway,” Murray said. “They’ll just be going from table to table.”

While enjoying the fashions, residents will have a special catered lunch from Joyce’s Catering. Sandy Green, a director at Sturdivant, said the event will be something women of all ages can enjoy.

“It’ll be out in the courtyard at Sturdivant,” she said. “It’s for ladies of all ages to come out and have a good time and see spring fashions.”

Murray said attendees will get a “run down” of what’s to come with all the spring fashion trends.

“It’ll be a beautiful spring activity,” Murray said. “There is nothing like new spring clothes and Sturdivant is the perfect venue to see those.”

Reservations are required to attend the luncheon and will be accepted by mail or in person at Sturdivant Hall. Cost is $20 per person.
