Ms. Lillie Melton, 83, resident of Selma, passed away April 2, 2013 in Montgomery, AL. Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2013, 12:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Of Praise church officiated by Rev. Lionel Melton. Burial will follow in Perryville Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Miller Funeral Service of Selma.

She is preceded in death by spouse, Lloyd J. Melton; parents, Charlie Bates and Annie B. Bates; brother , Willie Bates; sisters, Virginia and Ollie Johnson (Pat)

Survivors include five sons, Tim Lee Melton, Charles D. Melton, Harry Alphonso Melton, Lionel D. Melton, and Murray Nelson Melton; one daughter, Alice C. Melton; brothers, Charlie (Sherryl) Bates Jr., Alphonso (Althea) Bates, and Lake Bates (Blossie); sister, Leola Wyatt (Stanley); fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three daughters-in-laws, two brothers-in-laws, three sisters-in-laws, four nieces, and six nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
