Four children were taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center merely as a precaution following an early Monday morning accident involving the school bus they were riding and a cargo truck.

Don Willingham, assistant superintendent with the Dallas County Schools, said the students — all of who attend Martin Middle School — and the driver were fine, but complained of some bumps and bruises. The driver of the bus was also transported to Vaughan as a precaution.

The accident occurred early in the bus’ route on U.S. Highway 80 near Dallas County Road 44. According to Willingham, the truck struck the passenger side of the bus near the back tires, unfortunately the area where the four students were sitting.
