William Kenneth Hicks, age 76, of Selma, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Hicks; daughters, Beth Baker, Barbara Archer (Skip), Becky Patterson (Wes), and Beverly Morgan (Alan); sons, Bill Hicks Jr. (Hope) and Buddy Hicks (Lainie); 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sister, Merry Huley (Bob).

Mr. Hicks owned Hicks Realty, and he was instrumental in developing several subdivisions in Selma. He was the chairman of Selma Water Works and Sewer Board for 30 years. He also served terms on the YMCA board and John T. Morgan Academy board. Mr. Hicks was a life-long member of First Baptist Church, where he was awarded with Deacon Emeritus.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday February 14, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Light officiating and Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Eugene Howell, Ralph Derryberry, Dr. Park Chittom and The Maverick Sunday School Class.
