James A. McDonald, age 77, of Valley Grande, AL, passed away January 28, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his father, James; son, Jeffrey Clark McDonald and brother, Terry McDonald.

Surviving are his wife, Maxine Mayfield McDonald; son, James Lewis McDonald; daughter, Kelley McDonald Stone; mother, Daisy McDonald; brothers, Samuel McDonald and Joseph McDonald; sisters, Gloria Finley and Toni Debardeleben and grandchildren, Deborah Edwards, Amy Mason and Suzanne Stone; great-grandchildren, Bailey McDonald, Brandon McDonald, Oscar Higginbotham and Magnolia Mason and great-great-grandchildren, Phoebe Jones and Molly Roberts.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Guy Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30-2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Lewis, Jimmy Siddens, Brandon McDonald, Pete Jones, Darryl Averette and Jim Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be James Murphy, Forrest Hatfield, Earl Carswell and special family friend, Ernest Carter.
