Eva M. Newson, a loving wife and mother, age 88, of Selma, AL, passed away January 28, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Newson, Sr.; parents, Grover Cleveland and Jane Arnold, and brother, Floyd Arnold.

Surviving are son, Bill (Glenda M.) Newson, Jr.; daughter, Cindy (James) Williamson; sisters, Pauline, Grace, sisters-in-law, Lula (Ollie) Helms June (Earl) Parsons; brother-in-law, William (Wilodeen) Newsome; step-brother, Bud (Carol) Newsome; grandchildren, Valorie Stewart (Joel) Malone, John (Joan) Howell V, Michael Austin Newson, John David (Cherri) Summers, Allison Ferguson and Amy Blake (Keith) Kassabian; step-granddaughter, Angie (Tony) Fuqua; five great-grandchildren and nieces, Faye Blakely and Alice Keyes.

Graveside services will be Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Pineview Memory Gardens with Douglas Coats officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Newson, David Summers, Bobby Sanders, Joel Malone, Tony Fuqua, Jason Coats and Johnny Ingram.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Westend Baptist Church.
