Mr. and Mrs. Glynn Allen Stewart announce the engagement of their daughter, Laurie Celise Stewart, to Brian Chaiya Carey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ray Carey of Wetumpka.

Miss Stewart is the granddaughter of Mrs. Rosa Lyon Rives and the late George Walton Rives, Jr. and of Mrs. Barbara Allen Stewart and the late William Lauris Stewart, all of Selma.

The bride elect is a graduate of Meadowview Christian School, and also a graduate of The University of Alabama where she earned a B. S. degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She is currently employed as KidCheck Plus Program Manager at Sight Savers America.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. Clarence Carey and Mrs. Violet Carey of Collins, Ohio, and of the late Mr. Kwang Jua Sae Bae and Mrs. Heuy Sin Sae Bae of Bangkok, Thailand.

Mr. Carey graduated from Auburn University where he received a Bachelor degree in Industrial Design before going on to earn an International MBA from The University of South Carolina Moore School of Business. He is currently employed as Regional Marketing Manager by Goodwyn/Mills/Cawood architectural engineering firm in Birmingham.

The wedding is to take place at 3:00 p.m. on January 26, 2013, at Fairview Baptist Church of Selma.
