No one was injured in the house fire on the corner of Dallas Avenue and Westhaven Drive Monday afternoon. A driver from Air Pro Heating & Air reportedly called the Selma Fire Department after seeing smoke coming from the residence shortly after noon.

Selma Fire Chief Mike Stokes said the fire was contained to the bedroom and the adjacent hallway. Smoke filled the rest of the house, and firefighters found severe fire, smoke and water damage. Stokes said no one was home when firefighters arrived. The Selma Fire Department put out the fire and pulled a severely burned mattress and box spring from the home.

The cause of the fire was not identified and according to Stokes, the fire marshal plans to investigate.
