Ralph Lavert Friday, age 85, of Selma, AL, passed away January 2, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W. C. and Lillie Friday; brothers, James R. Friday and J. Wayne Friday and sister, Dorothy F. Chambers.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Cox Friday; children, Urban Claude (Kay) Friday and Thomas Collie (Dyan) Friday; special niece, Susan H. (Buddy) Alsbrook; brothers, Fred A. (Ann) Friday, Leo S. (Sharon) Friday, Claude W. (Gail) Friday, Erline F. (James) Wiggins; sister, Ruth Ann F. Fisher; grandchildren, Eric Jeston (Jennifer) Friday, Stephanie Friday (Donald) Oliver, Heather Friday (Joseph) Boone, Anthony Duane (Carrie) Friday, Chad Michael (Rachel) Friday and Alston Alsbrook; great-grandchildren, Turner, Savannah, Anna Cate, Delaney, Ansleigh and Addisyn and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Light and Rev. Guy Anderson officiating. Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be prior to the service at 12:00 p.m. at the church.

Pallbearers will be Eric J. Friday, Donald P. Oliver, Joseph F. Boone, Jr., Anthony D. Friday, Chad M. Friday and Alston Alsbrook, III. Honorary pallbearers will be the Maverick Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
