Kirkpatrick Smyly (Wadsworth), 66, a resident of Prattville, Alabama died Friday, December 28, 2012 after an extended illness. Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Coleman officiating. A visitation will immediately follow. Smyly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Aileen Wadsworth, in-laws, Ray and Malinee Kirkpatrick, her son, Ray Bradley Kirkpatrick, son-in-law, Braxton Joseph Rusk Sr. and three brother-in-laws, Cedric Evans, David Harold Kirkpatrick, and John Melton Myers Jr. Mrs. Kirkpatrick is survived by her husband, Ray Holmes Kirkpatrick, two daughters, Denise (John) Brown and Melinda Rusk; six grandchildren, Broughton and Bella Kirkpatrick, Carson and McClain Brown, and Braxton and Mary Bradley Rusk, two sisters, Linda (Tommy) Thompson and Gayle Myers, three sister-in-laws, Gwen Kirkpatrick, Gail Evans, and Lynn Kirkpatrick, and her mother-in-law, Lenore Kirkpatrick, along with numerous extended family members and many friends. The family sincerely appreciates the staff and management of Prattville Hospital and Prattville Health and Rehabilitation facility for the care and concern extended to Smyly during her short time there.
