Ellis Holeman, 71, of Maryland passed away, December 28, 2012 after succumbing to his illness.
He was born in Alabama to the late Mr. Freeman Holeman and Mrs. Jessie Lee Beard Holeman. After graduating from Tipton High School in Selma, Alabama, he lived in Newark, then East Orange, New Jersey.
Ellis was a truck driver for the United States Postal Service until he retired in 2002.
He had 34 years of service at the Post Office and was very proud of the many citations and awards he received as a valuable employee. He was most proud of his safety driving awards and records.
Ellis is survived by two children: Eleanor Hughes, of Roselle, New Jersey; and Janice Pelham, of Baltimore, Maryland. He also is survived by two grandchildren; Khari Hughes; and Maze Pelham.
On Saturday, January 5, 2013, a viewing will be held at 1:30p.m, funeral service at 2:00p.m., and interment to follow immediately after. Services provided by Vaughn Greene Funeral Home, 4905 York Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21222 (410-433-7500). Interment will be at King Memorial Park, 8710 Dogwood Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21244.
