Despite ancient Mayan predictions, Selma and the rest of the world has prevailed and somehow dodged doomsday. While we all take a moment and breathe a sigh of relief, we challenge you to look on into the next year and visualize how great Selma can and will be.

We’ve seen many new businesses and positive initiatives sweep our city in the past year and we encourage the same to happen in 2013. All it takes is a handful of residents who want to spark positive change. We also have a set of city officials who are more than ready to guide Selma into a positive and productive year.

So let’s all say a tearful farewell to all the doomsday reality shows and greet 2013 with joyful and proactive spirits. We made it.
