Joseph Maurice Ethier

On Sunday November 18th Maurice Joseph Ethier -known as Joe to his family and friends passed on to be with God. He was 81 years old. He was a member of The Queen of Peace church in Selma. He was from a small town of Millville, MA and joined the Air Force when he was 18. He went on to travel to Germany at the close of World War II and was stationed in Missouri, Arizona and then did a tour of Vietnam. He was stationed at Otis Air Force base for the remainder of his 26 year career besides having spent a year in Anchorage Alaska.

He will be reunited with his Mom, Laureanne- Dad, Omer and Brother, Robert all of Millville, MA and his wife Pauline “Polly” (Britton) Ethier of Selma. He was involved with the Veterens of Foreign wars and donating his time to the elderly. He played Santa to many events for most of his life. He leaves behind 2 sons….William Joseph Ethier and wife Kathy from Cedar Key, Florida – Robert Maurice Ethier and wife Linda of Buzzards Bay MA and a daughter Laureanne Margareta Horne and husband Bill of Yarmouth, MA and a stepson John Britton III of Newnan, Georgia. 7 Grandchildren…Adrienne, Shannon, Michael & John of Bourne – Nicole of Kentucky, Derek & Jennifer of Yarmouth. Two stepgrandchildren Cindy Casillo and Christa Britton, He also leaves 5 great grandchildren, a brother Omer F. Ethier and wife Donna of Arizona, A sister Madeline Trottier in Worcester and sister Claire Remillard in Blackstone. Many cousins, nieces and nephews. Also his good friend and Caretaker for many years Connie Wiltbank of Selma.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday November 26, 2012 at Queen of Peace at 11:00 a.m. with Father Stephen Hornat officiating and Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00- 10:45 a.m.

His family would like to thank the many people who helped with his care as well as all his friends from the Knights of Columbus, VFW and the Catholic Church in Selma. He can now find peace with his beloved Pauline.
