This time of year is marked by the annual United Way campaign. The 2012 campaign has received an amazing kickoff thanks to the employees of the International Paper Riverdale Mill.
Mill employees finished the campaign raising $99,579. When combined with the $0.60 on the dollar match provided by International Paper, the overall amount raised by Riverdale came to $159,312.
“I’d like to thank everyone who contributed to United Way this year,” Riverdale Mill manager Jim Bruce said. “The local organizations depend on the generosity of our community giving to be able to do their vitally important work.”
Members of the 2102 United Way committee and the departments they represent include: Paul Duke and Lindsey Vice, paper machines; Phillip Higginbotham and David Rinehart, mechanical maintenance; Synethia Bennett, power house; Karl Lewis, pulp mill/woodyard/deink; Walter ‘Bug’ Aaron and Peewee Newman, electrical and instrumentation maintenance; Marla Caver, Michelle Adams and Richard Ghant, PS&D; Pam Frasier, salaried and campaign management; union presidents and lead team members, campaign support.
