Gertie Mae Carter passed away November 7, 2012. Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, 1 p.m. at Saint Paul Methodist Church, 826 Choctaw Ave. officiated by Rev. Hodric Robinson.

Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Survivors include husband, Norman Carter; two daughters, Ardra (Carroll) Harvey of Birmingham, Kelly Carter of Selma; one son, Joseph Walton III of Huntsville; nine grandchildren, Brianna, Jalen Harvey, Joseph IV, Josiah, Jolesia, Deterius Walton, Arianna and Gerald Carter; six sisters, Alberta Sanders, Betty P. Fitts, Olla F. (James) Moore, Barbara Moore, Marilyn M. (Walter P.) Maresette, Shirley Howard of Selma; two aunts, one uncle, three aunts-in-law, many nephews nieces, cousins and friends.
