A dazzling selection of jewelry, handbags, scarves and much more all for only $5 — that’s what Vaughn Regional Medical Auxiliary is offering.

The auxiliary, a group of volunteers at Vaughn Regional Medical Center, is hosting the $5 Masquerade Jewelry and Accessories Sale this Thursday and Friday at the Vaughn Center Tower Classroom.

Thursday’s sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. All items will cost $5 and proceeds will benefit the auxiliary.

Shirley Pugh, president of the auxiliary, said the jewelry sale is one of the organizations biggest fundraisers.

“It’s an event we have twice a year,” Pugh said. “We’ll have scarves, jewelry, watches, rings—it’s just a fabulous array of items.”

Most of the funds raised will go toward scholarship money that the auxiliary gives out to students seeking a degree in the medical field, Pugh said.

Also, Pugh said, the sale is a great opportunity to stock up on good Christmas presents for friends and family members.

“People can come out and have a good time and get a lot of good bargains and a lot of nice things for Christmas,” Pugh said.

As of now, Pugh said the auxiliary boasts about 70 members and they need all the help they can get when it comes to raising money for the hospital.

“We give a lot of scholarships out during the year,” she said. “This is just a wonderful sale, plus it helps us tremendously to do the things we have to do for the hospital.”
