Morgan hosting Lowndes Academy

The Morgan Academy Senators (3-6, 1-4 AISA Class 3A-Region 2) will host the Lowndes Academy Rebels (4-5, 1-4 AISA Class 2A-Region 2) on Thursday at 7 p.m. to close out the season.

The Senators enter Thursday’s game on a six-game losing streak after Friday’s 35-7 loss to Clarke Prep School.

Lowndes Academy is coming off a 35-13 win over Jackson Academy.

Thursday’s game will be the first meeting between the two neighboring-county schools since 1999 when Morgan won 69-7.

The Senators are 21-10-1 all-time against the Rebels.

 

Dallas Co. hosting Elmore Co.

The Dallas County High School Hornets (2-6, 0-6 Class 4A-Region 3) will host the Elmore County Panthers (4-4, 2-4 Class 4A-Region 3) on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the final region game of the season for both teams.

The game was rescheduled to Thursday to accommodate both schools’ volleyball teams playing in the Class 4A Super Regionals in Montgomery on Friday.

The Hornets enter Thursday’s game on a three-game losing streak following last Friday’s 48-21 home loss to Childersburg.

The Panthers are coming off a 42-20 win over Holtville.

 

Meadowview traveling to SMCA

The Meadowview Christian School Trojans (2-7, 1-5 AISA Class 1A-Region 2) will travel to Grady to face the South Montgomery County Academy Raiders (2-7, 1-5 Class 1A-Region 1) Friday at 7 p.m. to close out the season.

The Trojans are on a five-game losing streak and are coming off a 37-13 loss at Sparta Academy.

The Raiders also enter Friday’s game on a five-game skid, coming off a 45-42 loss against Chambers Academy.

The Raiders are coached by former Meadowview head football coach John Glasscock.

 

Selma welcomes Satsuma

The Selma High School Saints (2-6, 1-5 Class 5A-Region 3) will host the Satsuma Gators (1-7, 1-5 Class 5A-Region 3) on Friday at 7 p.m. for homecoming.

Friday’s game marks the first-ever meeting between the two new region opponents in the final region game of the season.

The Saints enter Friday’s game coming off their second win of the season, a 35-16 victory over region opponent Sumter Central.

The Gators enter Friday’s game on a five-game losing streak after last Friday’s 47-0 loss to No. 5 Demopolis in a region game.

 

Southside hosting Bayside

The Southside High School Panthers (1-7, 1-5 Class 3A-Region 1) will host the Bayside Academy Admirals (4-4, 4-2 Class 3A-Region 1) Friday at 7 p.m. in the final region game of the season for both teams.

The Panthers are on a six-game losing streak after last week’s 41-14 road loss at region foe Excel.

The Admirals are coming off a 47-6 win over Cottage Hill Christian.

Friday’s game will be the first-ever meeting between Southside and Bayside.

 

Ellwood going to Akron

Having clinched a spot in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 1A state playoffs, the Ellwood Christian Academy Eagles (4-4, 3-3 Class 1A-Region 3) will travel to the Akron Rams (4-4, 2-4 Class 1A-Region 3) on Friday at 7 p.m. in a region game.

The winner of Friday’s game between the Eagles and Rams will secure the No. 3 playoff seed in region 3, while the loser will be the No. 4 seed in the region.

The Eagles are coming off a 26-0 home win over region opponent Sunshine, while the Rams are coming off an 18-13 loss to region foe Billingsley.
