PLANTERSVILLE — The Dallas County Hornets kept it close early, but the Childersburg Tigers capitalized off mistakes to win 48-21 on Friday in region play.

Chris Littleton, head football coach of Dallas County High School (2-6, 0-6 Class 4A-Region 3), said his team was hurt by early mistakes.

“We made too many little mistakes in the first half and got too far behind, and our kids got down, got a little banged up,” Littleton said. “I felt like we played hard the whole game, but we just made too many little mistakes. First half, we blew a coverage, miss a block here, false start here and those things just add up and turned a close ballgame into a game that wasn’t so close.”
