Mamie Wyatt Downs, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, formerly of Selma, died early Saturday morning, September 29, 2012, at her home. She was 90.

A memorial service was held at the family residence.

Surviving relatives include her husband of sixty-four years, E. T. Downs, Abbeville; two special nieces who were like daughters, Judy Williamson (Larry), Orrville, Alabama; and Martha Whitehead (Jeff), Conyers, GA; special great-nephews, Jeffrey Whitehead (Kim), Derek Whitehead and Sylvester Williamson; a special great-niece, Juanita Barrett (Jeremy), special great-great-nieces, Briana Whitehead, Reagan Barrett and Madison Barrett; extended family and special friends.
