Filming set for SelmaPublished 10:10pm Tuesday, January 10, 2012
Tonya S. Holly, an official of Cypress Moon Studios, has recently announced the production of a new feature film The Story of Bonnie and Clyde. Holly, who was recently in residence at her suburban property in Selma, has also announced the signing of the starring roles in the film.
Sean Faris will star as the infamous Clyde Barrow. Currently filming Pawn opposite Forest Whitaker, he is best known for his roles in such films as Never Back Down, Sleepover, Yours, Mine and Ours and the television series Reunion.
“I am very excited that Sean is going to be playing the role of Clyde Barrow. I believe he will bring a unique approach to this very complex character,” said Holly.
The film is a new adaptation of the classic love story of the notorious fugitives that took place during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Announcement was made recently that Lindsay Pulsipher, star of True Blood, will play the role of Bonnie Parker.
The script was written by Holly who will also direct the film that is set to be shot in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and possibly Missouri. She will also produce the film with Thomas Rogers III.
In a recent conversation with Holly it was learned that production should possibly begin in early spring. It is expected that some casting, and perhaps filming, might be done in Selma later in the spring. An announcement will be made at the appropriate time.
