Joyce Booker Westbrook

Mrs. Joyce Booker Westbrook, age 66, of 9 Weathers Rd. Rome, passed away at her residence Sunday September 25, 2011.

Mrs. Westbrook was born and grew up in Pickens County, AL., May 10, 1945, daughter of the late James Paul Booker and Jessie Lou Mullican Booker. She was an avid Alabama football fan.

Survivors include her husband Mr. Woodie Franklin Westbrook, Sr. of Rome whom she was married to for 45 years, one son; Woodie Franklin Westbrook, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Jacksonville, FLA., and two daughters; Mary Emily Galysh and her husband Roman of Rome, Jessica Westbrook Parker and her husband Jeff of Talladega, AL. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Lorian Pogue, Izzy Galysh, Sam Galysh, Will Galysh, Sarah Elizabeth Parker, William Zachary Parker and Jake Westbrook, Seven step-grandchildren; Polly Westbrook, Sarah Westbrook, Jefferson Westbrook, Emily Westbrook, Lauren Westbrook, Pierce Meadows and Hannah Meadows, three step-children; Michael Westbrook, Tom Westbrook, and Kay Westbrook Meadows, one brother; Charles Booker of Germantown, TN., one sister; Peggy Booker Jones of Columbus, MS., and two nieces and one nephew.

A graveside service for Mrs. Westbrook was conducted Monday September 26, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. at Oaknoll Cemetery with Rev. Kirk Spears officiating. The family received friends at Daniel’s Funeral Home Monday from 2:00 until 3:00. Those who served as Pallbearers were: Tom Westbrook, Jeff Parker, Roman Galysh, Mike Westbrook, Eddie Perry, Mike Jones, William Westbrook and Jim Molett.
