Judson show season comes to an end

Judson College finished the last of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association shows for the 2010-2011 season on Feb. 26-27 at Berry College in Rome, Ga.

The Judson College hunt seat team competed in two shows over the course of the weekend.  Faith Williams of Crossville placed sixth on Saturday and first on Sunday.

Megan Cook of Bothell, Wash. placed sixth in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter on Saturday and fifth on Saturday.

Heather Hodge of Thomasville placed reserve on Sunday. Beverly Cox of Athens placed third in Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter on Saturday. Rebecca O’Neal of Chatom placed second on Saturday and fourth on Sunday and Laura Hyer of Marion Junction placed fifth on Saturday and sixth on Sunday.

The Western team competed in only one show on Saturday. Jordyn Blackwell of Grand Bay placed fourth in Reining Horsemanship. She placed third in Open Western Horsemanship and Hodge placed sixth.

Corey Finlay of Anniston placed fifth in Intermediate Western Horsemanship.

Lindy Cowart of Brandon, Miss. placed second in Beginner Western Horsemanship while Jana Davenport of Jemison placed fourth and Brandy Colburn of Brent placed fifth.

Overall, the western team placed fourth in the season. Jordyn Blackwell finished the season winning her Regional Class and will compete in one of the three Western semifinal Shows March 26-27.

She and Coach Jennifer Hoggle will attend the show at West Texas A & M. in Canyon, Texas.

Hoggle and Janice Williams look forward to continued success and growth in both teams for next year’s show season.
