Selma University’s Eddie Waters continued his hot hitting, as did the Bulldogs on Tuesday with a doubleheader against Albany State University.

After dropping the first game 7-6 the Bulldogs (10-5) came back fighting to rally. In game two Selma looked again in trouble falling behind 6-2 going into the sixth inning before the Bulldogs finally found life.

After two quick outs, David Lee started the Bulldogs with a single.

Xavier Griffin then walked and Terry McClain hit a double to score both Lee and Griffin to bring the score to 6-4.

Selma escaped more runs in the visitor’s half of the seventh after Curt Williams shut the door with two runners on and no outs.

In the bottom of the seventh senior Bubba Robinson hit the first pitch delivered over the centerfield fence to bring the Bulldogs within one run. After ground outs by Antonio Rice and Tyler Hollis, junior infielder Justin Brown hit a 2-2 pitch over the centerfield wall for a game tying home run. Williams pitched a perfect eighth inning setting the stage for the Bulldogs victory. Lee led off the inning with a double to right-center field. After a Griffin walk, McClain singled through the left side setting up a 3-2 grand slam by Eddie Waters giving the Bulldogs a walk off victory.
