Selma boys win opener against Keith 63-45

SELMA — Selma’s boys basketball opened the season Friday night with a 63-45 victory over county rival Keith.

Charles Eaton led all scorers with 25 points for Selma, followed by Malcolm Riley and Darion Alexander with 10 points apiece.

Dupree Rivers added eight points.

Riley had seven rebounds, while Alexander and Rivers contributed six each.

Top scorer for Keith was Ronnie Rosemond with 16 points. Teammate Forrest Pasley contributed 11 points.

“We did a fairly decent job for our first game,” Selma coach Woodie Jackson said. “We didn’t know what to expect.”

Selma goes to Montgomery Tuesday to play Robert E. Lee.
