Eddie Blue, Jr., age 35, of Selma, AL died on January 5, 2007 at Jackson Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Selma, AL with Rev. George Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Marion Jct., AL with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include: mother, Nancy Blue; aunts and uncles, Rev. Eugene (Gracie) Bennett, Earnest (Jeanette) Bennett, Rev. George (Minister Margaret) Bennett, Queen Bennett, Matthew (Frances) Bennett, Henry (Rhonda) Blue, Roosevelt Blue , Bennie (Margie) Blue, Mary Fails, Diane Bennett, Barbara (Eddie) Brooks, Ruby Blue Smith and Annie Pigatt; one brother, Eric Sanders; sisters, Tonia (Clarence) Shelton, Tomekia (Jermaine) Lesure, Tamara (Cleveland) Williams, Tasha Blue (Eric) and Lisa (Owen) Chatham; a host of niece, nephews, cousins and friends, special friends, Florence Wilson and Danita Allen.

Ledger Maxwell Eiland, Jr.

Ledger Maxwell Eiland, Jr., age 71, of Marion died January 11, 2007 at his home.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Pine Flat Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Brooks officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing, burial will follow in the Pine Flat Baptist Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife; Syble Dean Sizemore Eiland, sons; Claude (Debbie) Eiland and Barry (Billie) Eiland, five grandchildren, Heather (Ty) Perry, Jeffrey Eiland, Jamie Eiland, Chris Lombardi, and Austin Eiland. He is also survived by 6 sisters-in-law, special friend, Anne Beason, aunts, and uncle. Mr. Eiland is preceded in death by his parents, Ledger Maxwell Eiland and Gertrude “Peggy” Anderson Eiland.

Pallbearers will be Roger Fuller, Bruce Fuller, Bill Bennett, Reginald Bennett, Buddy Bouler, and Dwayne Beason.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Pine Flat Baptist Church.

Family will receive friends Friday, January 12, 2007 from 6-8 p.m at the funeral home.

As an alternative to flowers donations may be made to Pine Flat Baptist Church.

Richard Alexander

Richard Alexander, age 47, of Selma, died January 11, 2007 at home.

Services will be held at 12:00 Friday, January 12, 2007 in the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Stone officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home Directing. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Survivors include his mother; Louise A. Roberts, father; Richard O. Alexander, brother; James E. Alexander and a nephew Jason R. Alexander.

Joyce Moore Delaney

Joyce Moore Delaney, age 60, of Selma, AL, passed away January 10, 2007 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 13, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Frazer officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be prior to the service at 1-2:00 p.m.

She is survived by one son, Larry Lee (Aechong) Conner, Jr. of Montgomery, AL; two daughters, Laura Dunaway (Chuck) of Selma, AL and Darlene (Frankie) Dobbs of Maplesville, AL; one brother, Jerry Moore; nine grandchildren, Larry Lee Anderson, John Conner, Nina Conner, Marik Conner, Amanda Dunaway, Chad Dunaway, Sean Haigler, Austin Haigler, and Alex Delaney; and one great grandchild, Alexander Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John “Bill” and Ivoree Moore.

Ms. Sarah M. Moore, age 66, of Selma, Alabama died on January 8, 2007 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Samuel McDole officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include: two sons, Darryl (Margaret) Moore and Terry Moore; one daughter, Paulette Chaney (Fred); one brother, John Mitchell (Frozene); one sister, Eddie Mae Stewart (Donnie); eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Samuel Hatcher

Samuel Hatcher, age 66, of Sprott, the husband of Maeberta Hatcher, died on January 5, 2007 at the Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 12:00 noon at the New Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Woodie Melton, pastor officiating. Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Maeberta Hatcher; three children, Kevin Holmes, Samuel (Tonette) Holmes, and Alicia (Kevin) Davis; three step children, Martha (Elijah) Rollins, Lina and Elfreeman Morton; five sisters, Johnnie M. Walker, Angelenea K. Leverett and Mary (Robert) Sheffied, Channie (Wardell) Davis and Lula Parris; six brothers, Albert Hatcher, Ocie Courtland, Willie (Dora) Keith, Levi (Maryann) Keith, Ernest (Annette) Tolbert, and James (Azealeane) Tolbert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie Tracey Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include: spouse, Gwendolyn Thomas; mother, Marilyn Thomas; sons, David Harris, Joseph Lucius II, Lucius Karrem Harris. James Cornelius Harris, Nathaniel Naeem Harris, and Andre’ Leek; daughters, Monique Oreese Harris, Tiffany Thomas, Khaliya Thomas, and Ashley Leek; three brothers, Lucius Thomas, Jr., James Jeffrey Thomas, and Nasser Thomas; six sisters, Cynthia Curtis, Alisha Dowell, Ruhmani Sherily, Lailah Callen, Helima Thomas and Lounetta Williams; nine grandchildren, two sisters-in-laws, fourteen nieces, fifteen nephews, friends and mother of his first five children, Betty J. Mr. Abraham Kimbrough, age 68, of Linden, Alabama passed away on January 5, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hope Hill Baptist Church in Dayton, Alabama. Rev. Johnny Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Dayton Cemetery, Dayton, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at new Parnell Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include: spouse, Lillian Collins; mother, Vella Mae Reese; four step sons, Eddie (Sonya) Collins, Edward Collins, Andrew Collins and Michael Anthony Bell; five daughters, Ella M. Bell, Mary A. Camille Lyons Floyd, age 72, at home in Prattville.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday January 14, 2007 at the Chapel at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Cambridge Christian Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Floyd is survived by her daughters, Dana Short of Prattville, Dorothy Robitaille of Vestavia, and 3 grandchildren, Johnathon Barnes, Terri Marie Barnes, and Connor Robitaille.

Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie M. Floyd

Mrs. Annie Roland, age 78, of Gallion, Alabama passed away on January 6, 2007 at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home in Demopolis, Alabama.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. The remains were cremated.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nazareth of Galilee Baptist Church in Demopolis, Alabama. The Rev. Jesse Bell will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Demopolis, Alabama.

The remains will repose at the church in Sunday beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Mrs. Cobb is survived by her sons, Pressley Cobb of Selma, Lester Cobb of Selma, and Franklin Cobb of Bremerton, WA, daughters, Ardelle Munn of Semmes, Louise Barrett of Mobile, Rosie Mae Hardin of Glascow, KY, and Betty Padgett of Ocala, FL. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and 3 sisters.
